Unit 6.2A Assignment

On the class wiki site, post your favorite new Web 2.0 tool that has not been covered in detail in this class that you have discovered in this course or elsewhere. List the URL, what the tool is, and why you find it useful using the wiki template page. No duplication allowed-each page must be an original new tool. This can be done after reviewing the Unit 9 material, which covers more Web 2.0 resources.

Educational Uses of Site

Describe specific examples of how this tool could be used in a classroom, either by the teacher, the students or both.
This tool can be used in a classroom with students to teach the very basics of doing. I would recommend creating projects as a group activity to get students familiar with the process. Scratch Jr. is an app so you will need a tablet. Tablet can be connected to a smart board or projector to share with the whole class.

Review of Site

I think the Scratch Jr. app is great for younger children. The Scratch site is also an excellent tool however, Scratch Jr. is less complicated and would benefit younger students who are learning to code. The buttons in Scratch Jr. are presented in picture form so it is not necessary to read to use this app. Users will be able to manipulate the characters and movements by simply placing the actions together. If the user is unsure of an action there is a preview button to show the action. There are multiple characters and scenes to choose from to create whatever the users imagination can think of.
